What is an EBB Retrofit?
An Earthquake Brace + Bolt retrofit involves "bracing" your crawl space and "bolting" your foundation to your house's frame. This critical update helps prevent your home from sliding off its foundation or toppling during a seismic event, offering peace of mind in an area prone to earthquakes.
Do You Qualify for EBB?
In addition to the four criteria listed in the CRMP (California Residential Mitigation Program) Grant Program Qualifications, your home must meet the following conditions:
It was built before 1980.
It has a raised foundation or crawl space.
You have not already completed a brace and bolt retrofit.
Take Advantage of the EBB Grant
Qualified homeowners can receive a grant of up to $3,000 to help cover the cost of a building code-compliant earthquake retrofit. Additionally, if your annual household income is $89,040 or less, you may qualify for a Supplemental Grant—based on available funding—to help make your retrofit even more affordable.
